The Yatsu-Giku Charm from Kobashi Studio is a remarkable fusion of traditional Japanese artistry and modern craftsmanship. Featuring the eight-petal chrysanthemum crest (Yatsu-giku), it is delicately crafted using the openwork “Sukashi” technique, showcasing fine precision and balance.

Each charm is cast by a family-run metal workshop in Tokyo from sterling silver (925), designed by Junichi Kobashi, and finished with a subtle vintage texture. The back bears the Kobashi signature engraved in Japanese characters.

At the center lies handcrafted Shippō-yaki enamel, a traditional glass enamel technique dating back over 400 years. Fired at around 800°C, the enamel creates a deep, glossy finish. The Ao colour—symbolising the clear blue Japanese sky—is handmade at a small Saitama workshop founded in 1967.
