The HBT Special Trousers (Lot BR42638) from Buzz Rickson’s are a faithful reproduction of U.S. Army herringbone twill trousers developed during the early 1940s. Originally designed for combat use and as protective garments against gas exposure, these trousers evolved alongside the matching jackets through several pattern updates.
This “Special” model reflects the later pattern, where the design shifted from a chino-style trouser to a more functional layout with large gusseted cargo pockets on both sides, each with protective flaps. A gas flap behind the fly was added to improve protection, which is also where the “SPECIAL” designation originates.
The trousers are constructed from durable olive drab herringbone twill, chosen for its strength and natural camouflage qualities. Finished with black-painted 13-star metal buttons, they maintain the utilitarian and unmistakable look of WWII-era military garments.
A rugged and highly functional pair of trousers with strong historical roots, reproduced with Buzz Rickson’s precise attention to detail.
Please note that slight variations in measurements may occur due to the nature of the fabric and finishing process.
