The Buzz Rickson’s Chambray Work Shirt Blue is a reproduction of the classic chambray utility shirts issued by the U.S. Navy, with this particular model based on examples from the 1950s.
The 100% cotton selvedge chambray is woven on old-style looms with relatively loose tension, creating the slightly uneven texture associated with vintage chambray. Repeated washing gradually softens the fabric and brings out more of its characteristic texture and variation.
Traditional details include two buttoned chest pockets, a separate front placket, collar stand and selvedge gussets at both sides of the hem, staying close to the straightforward construction of the original military shirts.
