The Original Spec Chinos from Buzz Rickson’s are based on the trousers adopted by the U.S. Army in 1937, when traditional riding breeches were phased out in favour of a more practical uniform. The result was the now-iconic chino, made from durable cotton twill and designed for everyday military use.

Buzz Rickson’s reproduces the original WWII-era chino cloth by analysing vintage fabrics and recreating them from the yarn stage. Long-staple cotton fibres are spun into twisted yarns before being woven into the 8.2 oz twill fabric. This method produces a material that is both sleek and highly durable—tough enough for hard wear while retaining the clean look associated with classic military chinos.

Cut with a mid-rise and a regular fit that tapers slightly toward the leg opening, these trousers offer a timeless silhouette that works equally well with workwear and more refined outfits.
