The William Gibson Collection Tropical Jacket from Buzz Rickson’s is the brand’s interpretation of a 1960s US Army tropical jacket, originally worn by both the US Army and US Navy during the Vietnam War. Designed for hot and humid climates, the lightweight yet tightly woven cotton fabric offers durability and protection while remaining breathable and comfortable to wear.
The jacket features four generously sized front pockets, with slanted chest pockets for easier access — a practical detail commonly seen on military and motorcycle garments. Additional details include waist adjusters at the back and an overlapped button front for added protection.
Part of Buzz Rickson’s William Gibson Collection, this all-black version pays tribute to the author’s long-standing fascination with military clothing. The collection was born after repeated requests for a black MA-1 flight jacket, leading Buzz Rickson’s to reimagine classic military garments in a monochrome palette.
Pre-washed for comfort with no shrinkage expected, this piece sits perfectly between a shirt and a jacket, making it ideal for layering in cooler weather or wearing on its own during warmer days.
