The Ortega Pant 13 Ounce Rust Herringbone from Freenote Cloth is the brand’s take on a classic carpenter pant, combining traditional American workwear construction with a beautifully textured 13 oz Japanese herringbone twill. The yarn-dyed rust fabric has a substantial, slightly firm hand when new but will soften considerably with wear and washing, developing more drape and character over time.
The Ortega is packed with functional workwear details, including reinforced double knees, utility and tool pockets, copper rivets, heavy-duty pocket bags and waistband lining, along with triple-stitched flat-felled seams and bartack reinforcement throughout. The fabric is sanforized and rinsed, so most of the shrinkage has already been removed.
The fit is high in the rise with plenty of room through the seat and thigh, followed by a straight leg and relatively wide hem. It runs slightly large compared with the tagged size, giving it the easy, comfortable proportions of traditional carpenter trousers.
Jonas is 183 cm / 75 kg and wears size 31.
