The 3215 Type II Jacket One Wash from Omoto Denim takes the classic Type II denim jacket and refines it into a more versatile everyday garment. While retaining hallmark details such as the twin chest pockets and waist adjusters, Omoto has introduced additional hip pockets and a more considered pattern design inspired by bespoke tailoring.
The jacket is cut around the structure of the human body, with carefully designed armholes, thoughtfully placed back pleats, and a modern collar shape that balances comfort, mobility, and elegance. The result is a jacket that feels both familiar and remarkably easy to wear.
The 13.5 oz denim is woven from a blend of Memphis cotton and Zimbabwe cotton, combining firmness, softness, and durability. Dyed using 100% pure indigo and traditional rope-dyeing techniques, the yarns retain a white core that allows for beautiful vintage-inspired fading over time.
The fabric is woven on a modified 1950s Sakamoto shuttle loom, using exceptionally low warp tension to create the textured, uneven surface that defines the denim’s character. Although based on shrink-to-fit denim, this version has been one-washed, providing comfort from the start while preserving the fabric's authentic texture and ageing potential.
Olof is 185 cm / 80 kg and wears size 42.
