The Sugar Cane SC29682 Red Chambray Work Shirt is based on classic American work shirts, made in Japan with a strong focus on recreating the fabrics and construction of vintage originals.
The distinctive red chambray uses red yarn in the warp and natural, unbleached yarn in the weft. Sugar Cane developed the red yarn after studying vintage fabrics, giving the cloth a softer, more nuanced colour and texture than a conventional solid red shirt.
Traditional workwear construction includes two large flap chest pockets, while the shoulders, armholes and side seams are reinforced with triple-needle stitching. Sugar Cane also uses natural-coloured sewing thread, chosen specifically to complement the character of the red chambray.
The shirt has been washed once, giving the cotton chambray a softer feel from the start.
