Where it’s made: Made in Japan
What it’s made from: 100% cotton, 10.2 oz Japanese denim made with recycled cotton yarns
Fit description: Relaxed, straight work jacket fit with room for layering
The TCB Jeans Catface Jacket is based on the US Army M40 denim jacket, introduced in 1940. Unlike the more decorative civilian work jackets of the 1930s, the M40 was designed with simplicity and practicality in mind. TCB has carefully recreated its understated military appearance, with two functional front pockets and a comfortable, relaxed silhouette.
The jacket is made from a specially developed 10.2 oz denim using recycled cotton for both the warp and weft yarns. This creates an irregular, slubby texture reminiscent of original US Army denim. The indigo warp is combined with vat-dyed grey weft yarns, giving the fabric a deeper, slightly muted blue colour.
The denim is sanforized but has undergone minimal additional finishing to preserve its rough, textured character. As the jacket is worn and washed, the fabric will gradually soften, develop natural twisting and reveal more of its uneven texture through fading.
The Catface Jacket can also be worn with the matching Catface Trousers, inspired by the US Army M35 denim trousers.
