Where it’s made: Made in Japan
What it’s made from: 100% cotton, vintage low-gauge knit
Fit description: Regular fit, runs small – shrinks 2–3 cm in length and 1 cm in width after first wash
The Lot 4601 from Warehouse & Co. is not just a T-shirt—it's a meticulous reproduction of the kind of cotton tees worn in mid-century America, crafted using vintage low-gauge tubular knitting machines. These slow-speed circular knitting machines, now rare and difficult to maintain, produce fabric with a distinct shadow stripe effect, visible slub texture, and a unique unevenness that modern high-speed machines simply can’t replicate.
The result is a soft-yet-structured feel, full of character. Details like the tight, triply stitched collar, tubular knit body (no side seams), and old-school construction methods make this tee a go-to for heritage purists.
Warehouse & Co. is one of Japan’s most respected reproduction specialists. Founded in 1995 and part of the famed Osaka 5, they focus on “faithful reproduction”—painstakingly replicating garments down to the yarn type, dye process, and stitch count. Their tees are revered for quality and authenticity, and the Lot 4601 is no exception.
Expect about 2–3 cm shrinkage in length and 1 cm in width after the first wash. Jonas is 183 cm, 75 kg and wears size Large for a regular fit after shrinkage.
