The BS 11” Aviator Boots by Black Sign are a masterpiece of vintage-inspired design and Japanese craftsmanship. Drawing inspiration from 1930s aviator engineer boots, these boots pay homage to early pull-on roper boots issued during World War I, combining historical accuracy with a timeless aesthetic.
Crafted from 2.3mm - 2.5mm tea-core Japanese horsehide leather, these boots feature a semi-gloss finish that scuffs and wears to reveal a natural brown core, developing a highly sought-after vintage patina. The vegetable-tanned leather is dense yet supple, ensuring durability while moulding to your foot with wear.
The boots boast impressive construction details, including a Goodyear flat welt, oak-tanned outsole leather from England, and O'Sullivan's Biltrite rubber half sole and heel for traction and comfort. The custom iron hardware and logger heel add rugged charm, while the lack of a traditional heel counter imbues the boots with a sleek, antique look. The gusseted shaft opening and partially structured flat toe enhance both practicality and style.
