We hem your jeans using our vintage Union Special 43200G chainstitch machine, also known as the "Bulldog". Dating from the 1950s/60s, this is the proper machine for the job and the same type of chainstitch construction used by many of the world's leading denim brands.
We only hem jeans made from 100% cotton. If your denim is heavier than 21oz, please contact us before sending your jeans.
Current lead time is approximately 1-2 weeks.
At the moment, we only accept jeans sent from within the EU. Customs fees and additional charges make the service unnecessarily expensive for customers outside the EU, but we're working on finding a solution.
Shipping options
When booking the hemming service, you can choose with or without shipping.
If you choose without shipping, you arrange and pay for sending the jeans to us yourself. You will only pay us for the return shipment together with the hemming service.
If you choose with shipping, we'll arrange the shipment to us as well as the return shipment. Once your order has been placed, we'll send you a shipping label to use when sending the jeans to us.
Before sending your jeans
Measure your desired inseam using the same method we use. You can find our measurement guide here.
Please include a note inside the parcel with your name, order number and clear instructions for the desired inseam. You can also mark the desired length directly on the jeans using a safety pin.
Please be as clear as possible with your instructions. If anything is unclear, we'll contact you before hemming.
We do not keep the original hem. Your jeans will be cut to length and given a new chainstitched hem using our Union Special 43200G.
If you'd like us to return the cut-off denim with your jeans, just let us know in your note.
We always do our best to hem to your exact requested measurement, but please allow for a +/- 1 cm tolerance.
